These above reviews have little to do with the Augusta Regal. People are nice. It is a clean, fairly comfortable theater. They do a wonderful commuinty service with the free summer movies for kids and families. But they show current movies, that is what they do. So not dump on them for not showing what you like. Take that up with Hollywood. Prices are not out of line with every other main stream theater ....I am glad to have the abiity to see current stuff in town. For those of you who like the more independent stuff, it can be found, just not always at regal.report abusehoagie

Personally I don't go to the movies very often. Since I am not a teenager or young adult about 75% of the flicks they show in Augusta do not appeal to me at all. Not much into the slasher, fantasy, or T & A assorted junk. Some of older folks in Maine, myself included, do happen to enjoy movies with good scrips and good acting with a more adult type topic or plot. Why not have a retro night of some sort...show some of the old classics like Midnight Cowboy..Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf ... In the Heat of the Night...Dog Day Afternoon...Guess Who's Coming To Dinner, The Exorcist etc. I know you can rent these movies at the local Blockbuster or other sites, but it might be nice to experience some of the older movies on the big screen. Just a thought.report abuseYou must be a registered user of MaineToday.com to post a comment. Register or log in.
